Pulusu Vadai | புளி வடை | Puli Vada | Tamarind Vada

Pulusu Vadai | Puli(Tamarind) Vadai is a must try snack. This is my grand mother's recipe. I learnt it from my mom.. When preparing, it reminded me of my childhood days.. nostalgia :)

Ingredients :-
 Raw rice  1 cup
 Fresh grated coconut   1 cup
 Tamarind  lemon size 
 Red chillie  6   
 Curry leaves     few sprigs  
 Asafoetida  ¼ tsp
 Salt  to taste 
 Method :-
1). Wash and soak rice for 2hours. Then grind coarsely - rice, coconut, red chillies, tamarind, curry leaves and salt with little water.

2). Make small balls from the dough and flatten them on oiled plastic sheet.

3). Heat oil in a pan, gently transfer the flatten vada's into oil.

4). Deep fry the vada in medium heat. It will puff up like poori.

Puli Vadai ready !! Serve hot !! It tastes great without any side dips.

Notes :-
# To make crispy vadas the dough should be thick like masala-vada dough.
# Vada should be in medium size, neither thick nor thin.
