Bellpeppers/Capsicum Masala is a simple, delicious & colorful accompaniment with handy ingredients. It suits best with Indian Bread varieties and Rice Varieties.
|Bell Peppers / Capsicum(Chopped)||3|
|Onion (Finely Chopped)||1|
|Ginger Garlic Paste||1 tbsp|
|Coriander powder||1 tsp|
|Chilli powder||1 tsp|
|Turmeric powder||½ tsp|
|Coconut powder||1 tbsp|
|Salt to taste||to taste|
1). Roughly chop the bell peppers and finely chop the onions.
2). Heat Oil in a pan, add mustard and cumin, let it splutter. Then add the finely chopped onions along with salt and saute till translucent. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
3). Then add ginger-garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes. Add the chopped bellpepper and cook covered for 5minutes.
4). Add chilli powder, Coriander powder, Coconut powder and combine well. Reduce the flame and cook covered until the capsicum becomes soft and gets cooked.
Switch off and serve with Chapathi or Pulao Varieties.
# I have used bell peppers of different colors. You can use only the green ones or any color you like. But multi-colored Bellpepper looks colorful & appetizing.
# You can cube or cut it depending on your choice.
# I like it to be bit crunchy, if you want you can sprinkle little water and cook it for some more time.
# To make it gravy consistency, Cook the capsicum in coconut milk along with cashew paste for rich flavor.
