Garlic Chicken is delicious and flavorful Indo-Chinese recipe. Boneless chicken is flavored with garlic and finally blended with spices. Serve this as an rice accompaniment (pulao or fried rice varieties) or with breads (Chapathi & Naan) or simply as an appetizer !
|Boneless Chicken||½ kg|
|Garlic (finely chopped)||½ cup|
|Green Chillies (finely chopped)||lemon size|
|Soy sauce||1 tsp|
|Tomato Sauce / Ketchup||1 tsp|
|Turmeric powder||1 tsp|
|Chilli powder||1 tsp|
|Spring Onion||for garnishing|
1). Wash and cut the chicken into bite size pieces. Marinate the chicken with garlic (¼ cup), Chilli powder and turmeric powder for 2 hours. Keep it aside and prepare the rest of the ingredients.
2). Heat oil in a pan, add green chillies and garlic, saute till the raw smell disappears. Add onions and saute till it turns translucent.
3). Then add the marinated chicken along with a ½ cup of water and let the chicken cook in medium flame. Chicken will ooze out water, so add water accordingly. When the chicken is ¾th cooked, add the chopped capsicum pieces and mix well.
4). Add the corn starch, ketchup, soy sauce and combine everything together. Turn off the heat once the chicken is fully cooked.
Garnish with spring onions and serve hot !
# You can use garlic powder instead of garlic. I like the crunchy taste of garlic along with the chicken pieces.
# Try using Teriyaki sauce instead of Soy sauce.
# Cornflour is must, it helps to coat the chicken and gives a good texture.
