Whole Greengram Curry | பச்சைப்பயிறு குழம்பு

Whole Green-gram Curry is simple, healthy and tasty curry. This suits well with Chapathi and rice varieties.

Ingredients :-
 Whole greengram    ½ cup 
 Onions (finely chopped)   1 
 Tomatoes (finely chopped) 1 
 Garlic (finely chopped) 5 pods 
 Turmeric powder  ¼ tsp
 Chilli powder  1 tsp
 Amchur powder   ½ tsp
 Coriander leaves(finely chopped)   few 
 Milk ¾cup
 Hing   pinch
 Cumin 1 tsp 
 Oil 1 tbsp 
 Salt to taste
Method :-

1). Heat oil in pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and let it splutter. And add onions, garlic, salt and saute till turns pink and then add finely chopped tomatoes. Saute the tomatoes until it turns soft and mushy.    
2). After that add turmeric powder, chilli powder and mix well. Then add the soaked whole greengram with ½cup milk/water and pressure cook for 2whistles.

3). Once the pressure releases, add amchur  powder and simmer till it reaches the desired consistency. Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves. 
 Serve with Chapathi or steamed rice & papad.
Notes :-
# You can also pressure cook greengram separately and later combine it together with sauteed masala. 
# Substitute whole green gram with sprouts or Moong dal or toordal for a variety.
